Homework Expectations My hope is that your child will take no more than 40 minutes to complete their nightly homework. Unfinished work can be completed in the morning at school, but an effort is expected. Most importantly, I would love for our fourth graders to spend time outdoors, playing with friends or siblings, and interacting with their loved ones in the evening. Homework should be fun, not frustrating practice! Please have your child set a timer on a phone, computer, or clock to keep track of their 40 minutes. Reading: 15-20 minutes nightly. Additionally, your child will be given a passage at the beginning of the week based on their reading level. They will work with this same passage all week, but each night, they will complete a different assignment aligned with that passage. This site provides a great overview similar to what we will be doing! Minds In Bloom Reader Response Journals
